We know there’s a lot of writing about the Yankees out there already, but we aim to join and add to the conversation. There’s always room for unique content and we believe that we can satisfy all comers with our Yankees-based content.

So, what can you expect to read on BP Bronx? A wide variety of styles and perspectives from our staff of writers. We’re aiming to match the quality analysis that you see on Baseball Prospectus. There will be longform pieces on specific aspects of a player’s talents. There will probably be a lot of hot takes on general manager Brian Cashman’s roster construction. The way things are going, Mashahiro Tanaka’s elbow might be a popular topic. There will, of course, be numbers, graphs, tables, and even GIFs. There will be historical pieces and comparisons to historic Yankees teams. The issue of money might even come up.

What you won’t see on BP Bronx, at least initially, is breaking news and classic game stories. At this point, we can’t compete with the Yankees beat when it comes to news. We aim to bring you what you can’t find in most game stories: a unique and nuanced take on the game supported by advanced statistical analysis. Instead of telling you what you already know, we hope to shed light on the angles that aren’t necessarily well covered by the mainstream and get you thinking about baseball in a different way.

The staff we have in place will work tirelessly (I’m sure) to produce quality content. From familiar Yankees writers to college students to Giants fans, we have a diverse and talented staff. The Opening Day lineup consists of Andrew Mearns, Nick Ashbourne, Bryan Kohrs, Ian Frazer, Leo Martinic, Matthew Cott, and there will surely be more to come. With this group, though, all kinds of writing will be on the table.

It’s kind of an interesting time to be a Yankees fan. The team is in a transition of sorts and expectations for the team have changed along with the personnel.
