Your stance about keeping Miller or dealing him for prospects is fair, and it's what I'd advocate also. But I've never seen the Yankees go for a full rebuild in my lifetime, and this was just a thought exercise I threw out there as a possibility. Will it ever happen? Probably not, but to act like it's as unfair as you think is a little bit too over-the-top. Go read the article again for my arguments and let me know which point you disagree with.
"failed big time in Boston"
Um, no he didn't. In his only full season there, he slashed .338/.410/.548 and posted his highest wOBA of his career. Boston really wanted him, but he was the price they paid to rid themselves of the Crawford and Beckett contracts.
"would not be our starting 1st basemen next year if Bird is healthy"
True. One would play 1B, and the other would DH, which is what I mentioned in the article. I'm not sure you read it that thoroughly.
"you must be really bored to suggest it"
Also guilty as charged. I thought it was an interesting idea worth exploring and writing about, and I don't think it's ridiculous like you do, but it wouldn't be my first preference in regards to Miller.

Are you serious or are you on something? Why would the Yankees even consider this? This is probably the stupidest post I've ever read and if they did this I would not bother watching games this year. Half of Yankee fans want a full rebuild, the other half want to keep Miller and trade Chapman for young prospects. And you want to trade our best asset for an aging, overpaid, declining first basemen who failed big time in Boston and to be honest would not be our starting 1st basemen next year if Bird is healthy. Awful idea and you must be really bored to suggest it.
