Frankly, I do not expect the Yankees to improve his performance of 2015. It is not only the second base the weakest point of the team. Gardner, it is almost a similar case with serious problems when facing lefthand pitchers, but not as expensive as
Elsbury. This couple of outfielders are the lead off batters in yankees lineup, so?. Pitching staff: Starters: CC Sabathia (the only southpaw in the rotation ) has deteriorated so much his pitching capacity ( health and personal problems) , his high salary and memories of past performances from early years are the keys to keep him in the rotation. Nova and Pineda affected by injuries have up and downs performances, but when healthy and the help of a good offensive yankees day ,,,, they are ok.
It is a must to get a first class starter pitcher to accompany Masahiro Tanaka in the 1 or 2 spots of the rotation, nevertheless , the Yankees farm system has developed a considerable number of talented righthand pitchers that it should be the base to find the rotation # 5 starting pitcher.
This is a simple appreciation from a Yankee fan who thinks that keeping the team, but the second base improved , will bring a 2016 Yankees performance
similar to the 2015.

Disagree. Refsnyder showed a live bat and a lot of energy and athleticism in that short test.
With Gardner possible on the trade block, we need another energy guy.
